Carbon Fiber Care
Paktechz carbon fibre parts leave the factory with a UV-resistant gloss clear coat, so care is much the same as for paintwork. A few areas do need extra attention, above all the edges and corners where the coating is thinnest.
The advice on this page is general guidance for gloss-coated carbon work. If you notice anything unusual, such as dull patches, a lifting edge or a noise while driving, contact our team so a technician can inspect the car in person.
Routine washing steps

Rinse off dust and grit first
Never start by wiping or dusting dry. Any grit still on the surface acts like sandpaper and swirls the clear coat immediately. Always rinse it all off with water first.

Wash with a mild car shampoo
Use a pH-neutral car shampoo, not dish soap or an all-purpose cleaner. Work with a microfibre mitt and the two-bucket method (one for suds, one to rinse the mitt) so grit never travels back onto the paint.

Wash top to bottom and leave the lower parts for last
The front lip, side skirts and diffuser are the dirtiest areas. Washing them first and then taking the same mitt to the upper panels drags road film and stone chips upward and scratches them. Use a separate mitt for the lower parts.

Rinse all foam off — never let it dry on the surface
Shampoo or water left to dry on the clear coat leaves white marks that are hard to remove. If you are washing outdoors, work one section at a time and rinse it straight away rather than soaping the whole car first.

Dry with a clean cloth or air blower
Dry by laying the towel down and drawing it across, never by rubbing in circles. Compressed air is best because nothing touches the surface at all, especially in the grooves and along the edges where water collects.
Do
- Wash in the shade, when the car is not hot from the sun
- Keep a separate microfibre mitt for the lower parts of the car
- Check the part edges and mounting points every time you wash
- Ceramic coating or clear film to protect the clear coat
- Park in the shade or use a cover for long stays
- Remove bird droppings and tree sap as soon as you can
Avoid
- Wheel cleaner, tar remover and strong solvents anywhere near carbon parts
- Aiming a pressure washer close to part edges and tape lines
- Stiff brushes, coarse sponges, or a cloth that has been dropped on the ground
- Aggressive machine polishing on corners and edges, where the coating is thinnest
- Waxes or creams containing abrasives on gloss carbon
- Parking in harsh sun regularly with no protection

The intervals above are general guidance and can be adjusted to how the car is actually used. Cars parked outdoors or driven long distances often should be checked more frequently.
